+ Part 1: Basics: introduction, statistical considerations, materials, load and stress analysis, deflections and stiffness.

+ Part 2: Failure prevention: failures resulting from static loading, fatigur failure resulting from variable loading.

+ Part 3: Design of mechanical elements.
