Nguyễn Xuân Sanh (16/11/1920 - 22/11/2020) là nhà thơ, dịch giả, sinh tại Đà Lạt. Cha ông là một nhà nho ở Quảng Bình, sau di cư vào Đà Lạt, nên ông Sanh đã ra đời nơi ấy. Ông học trung học và đại học ở Hà Nội, làm thơ sớm, năm 16 tuổi đã có truyện thơ Lạc loài đăng nhiều kỳ trên báo.

Tuyển tập thơ "Góc sân và Khoảng trời" do Trần Đăng Khoa sáng tác từ những năm lên 8. Đến năm nhà thơ lên 10 tuổi thì "Góc sân và Khoảng trời" được in lần đầu, gồm 52 bài thơ và sau này được bổ sung thêm lên 66 bài - bao gồm các bài thơ nổi tiếng đã được đăng báo của Trần Đăng Khoa. Sớm giác  ngộ cách mạng, nhà văn Nguyễn Kiên  tham gia kháng chiến chống Pháp, là  đội viên trong ban tuyên truyền xung phong của Tổng bộ Việt Minh từ năm 1947. Ông hoạt động liên tục từ kháng chiến chống Pháp, chống Mỹ, đến những ngày hòa bình, từng là giáo viên, cán bộ đoàn thanh niên, biên tập viên xuất bản và tạp chí.
