Abstract

Articles by scholars and political, diplomatic, and economic policy professionals relate the efforts made by developing countries in the arena of international monetary issues.

They deal in depth with the financial crises in Asia and Mexico, and examine more overarching issues such as globalization, emerging markets, the volatility of private capital flows, labor challenges, and sustainability.

Appendixes include a synopsis of the first Group of 24 meeting in Caracas, Venezuela in 1972, and the declaration that evolved out of this meeting
